Hendrik Nicolaas Werkman was an experimental Dutch artist, typographer and printer. He set up a clandestine printing house during the Nazi occupation and was shot by the Gestapo in the closing days of the war. Wikipedia - This unusual piece already has archival linen-backing. The first posthumous Werkman exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum was from November 10 to December 17, 1945, and was organized by friend and Stedelijk Director Willem Sandberg.
