Crass were an English art collective and punk rock band formed in 1977 who promoted anarchism as a political ideology, a way of life and a resistance movement. Featuring parody versions of John Major, Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, Queen Elizabeth and Brezhnev. Using a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson's 1841 essay "Self-Reliance" that emphasis the need for each individual to avoid conformity and false consistency, and follow his own instincts and ideas.
