Mexican World War II offset lithographic poster depicting a young man wielding a Mexican flag, with an image of an exploding oil tanker in the background. The poster is entitled "El Grito de Guerra", and is marked at the bottom edge as being designed by Luis Araiza, published by the Secretary of Governance and printed by "Galas", based on an original painting by David Arreola. The poster references the sinking of the Mexican tanker PORTERO DE LLANO by the German submarine U-564 in May of 1942. Her sinking, along with that of a second tanker several days later, provoked a then-neutral Mexico to enter the war on the side of the Allies. The poster was produced with the cooperation of the Departamento del D.F. and the Secretaría de Gobernación.
