A lovely and classic design. This label was posted on the top of a large wooden box for Klaus Chocolate. The horse and rider was the Swiss company's logo for 50 years, but originally created in 1903 by Leonetto Cappiello. Like many of the beloved artist's work, the design bridges Art Nouveau fluidity with Art Deco boldness. This label probably dates anywhere from 1905 to 1925. NOTE: Mounted on archival backing. The cream colored rag-paper as pictured around the border is the backing and can be trimmed as needed. Restored upper right corner.
