Very rare 1949 poster published by the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, Inc (later called March of Dimes) who were located at 120 Broadway, NYC. The poster was designed for and won first prize in a polio poster competition organized at MoMA. Designed by Herbert Matter whose own son is the pictured child recovered from polio (MoMa Archives). Matter was a "Swiss-born American photographer and graphic designer known for his pioneering use of photomontage in commercial art. The designer's innovative and experimental work helped shape the vocabulary of 20th-century graphic design." (Wikipedia). One currently is in the NY MoMA collection. NOTE: Very good condition with only small tear at top.
