1990 piece. Euphronios (b. 535 BC) was an ancient Greek vase painter and potter, active in Athens in the late 6th and early 5th centuries BC. Illegally excavated from an Etruscan cemetery near Cerveteri, this Krater was part of the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York from 1972 to 2008, until repatriated to Italy under an agreement negotiated in February 2006.
