Some additional text reads: "The evaluation case study of the public communications program of the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris addresses the problem of how elements of an identity program must both communicate specific information and strengthen the overall image of the institution. The focus of this particular case is the signage system which, because of the decisions by both designers and bu-reaucrats, is successful in promoting the feeling of Beaubourg but fails in not giving people the information they need to find their way through the building..."
