1996 Poster for the "Fiestas de Cruz" (Feast of the Cross) presented by Green Oasis & El Colectivo. The poster features a stylized image of Jesus on the cross, surrounded by two figures playing maracas and a drum. The event took place from May 23-31 at 8th Street, Avenues C and D. "Loizaida" most likely refers the annual Loisaida Festival in the Lower East Side that takes place in May and celebrates Latin American culture, and more specifically, Nuyorican (New York/Puerto Rican) culture. La Fiesta de Cruz is a special annual event. "This popular celebration of chanted rosaries is based on a 200+ years old tradition in Puerto Rico, in honor of the Cross and the survival of an earthquake that struck the island in 1787."
